Judging Terms & Conditions

1.Definitions and Interpretation

In this document, unless the context requires otherwise

Quest TEMi Awards means The Employee Mobility Institute (TEMi) Awards Program in conjunction with naming rights partner, Quest Apartment Hotels;

Awards Entrant means any person/business entering the Quest TEMi Awards;

Award Submissions means any completed award application forms and accompanying support materials provided by the Award Entrant to TEMi to form part of the Judging Process.

Award Categories means any of the following Quest TEMi Awards

  • Talent Mobility Champion of the Year Award
  • TEMi Distinguished Service Award
  • Transformation in Workforce Mobility Award
  • Excellence in Strategic Partnership Award
  • Talent Mobility Service Excellence Award
  • Global Talent Impact Award
  • Team Excellence in Global Talent & Mobility Award
  • Workforce Mobility in Action Award
  • Quest ‘Relocation with Heart’ Award
  • Global Mobility Professional (GMP1)® Graduate Excellence Award
  • Outstanding Member Contribution Award
  • Rising Star in Mobility Award

Business Interest means any interest that could directly or indirectly result in the Judge or a person in whom the Judge has a Business interest;

Judge Chair means the chair of the judging panel, as appointed from time to time;

Conflict of Interest means any actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest between the Judge’s duty to objectively adjudicate or otherwise participate in a Selection Process and the Judge’s Personal Interests, Business Interests or Financial Interests;

Financial Interest means any interest that could directly or indirectly result in the Judge or a person in whom the Judge has a Personal Interest receiving a financial gain or bearing a financial loss;

Judge means any person judging or otherwise in a position to influence the decision-making in the final selection of Award winners and finalists;

Judging Panel means the panel of judges appointed to undertake the Judging Process;

Judging Process means the process of reviewing Award entries to determine Award winners and finalists;

Personal Interest includes a personal relationship with a spouse, de facto partner, relative, business associate or financial dependant;

Selection Process means the process of judging and evaluating the Award entries to select award category winners.

2.Appointment

TEMi has appointed a judging panel to review and assess the Award Submissions in respect of the Award Categories as set out in Section 1.

Appointment to the Quest TEMi Awards judging panel is a voluntary professional role. Judges receive no remuneration for participation in the judging process unless otherwise agreed by TEMi in writing.

The Judge accepts this Appointment subject to the Judging terms and conditions herein.

3.Judges Role

In carrying out their role as a Judge, the Judge agrees to :

  • Review the allocated Award Submissions for the select Award Categories against the selection criteria provided by TEMI within the time frames specified by TEMI;
  • Rate the responses using the assessment model, selection criteria and scoring system provided by TEMI;
  • Provide constructive commentary where requested to support scoring rationale and recognise strengths, innovation or opportunities identified within submissions;
  • Comply with TEMI’s conflict of interest obligations as set out below;
  • Provide to TEMI the Judge’s career biography (comprising of 100 words) and a head and shoulder photograph (in high resolution digital jpeg or png format) upon TEMI request;
  • Be willing to provide feedback to the winners and the runners up with regards to their Award Submission pre, during or post the TEMi Awards event, upon TEMI request.
  • Attendance at the Quest TEMi Awards Gala Dinner is encouraged, but not mandatory.

4.Promotional Activities

Each Judge will receive a judge’s promotional logo to use across their social media platforms. Judges may use approved Quest TEMi Awards judging panel promotional assets in professional communications and social media, in accordance with TEMi brand guidelines;

Note: TEMI reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel the Awards Ceremony if deemed necessary.

5.Contacting Award Entrants

Judges must not contact Award Entrants directly regarding submissions, scoring or assessment matters unless expressly authorised by TEMi.

If a Judge requires clarification on any points, they are to contact the TEMI Judging Chair who will then liaise with the Award Entrant and provide the feedback to the Judges.

6.Conflict Of Interest Obligations

TEMi may appoint alternative or reserve judges where necessary to support conflict management and preserve the integrity of the judging process.

Judges will not be invited to judge any category where

  • a company they are currently working has entered the Awards Program;
  • they have nominated an Awards Entrant
  • they are deemed to have a personal, financial or business interest which would give rise to a conflict of interest.
  • They are, or work for an entity, deemed to be a direct competitor of the applicant.

A Judge must inform TEMi of a possible Conflict of Interest as soon as the Judge becomes aware of it, even if the Judge considers the Conflict of Interest to be remote, contingent, or apparently insubstantial. An Award Entrant must follow these same guidelines.

TEMi will promptly consider a disclosed interest and determine whether a Conflict of Interest exists.

TEMi will determine, at its discretion whether, due to a Conflict of Interest, a Judge or Judging Chair should:

  • participate, or continue to participate, in any or all of the Judging Process; or
  • be excluded from further participation in any, or certain aspects, of the Judging Process.

7.Confidentiality

Judges must treat all aspects of the judging and awards process (including without limitation all written, recorded or oral communications in any form between Judges, and/or Awards administrators, and/or TEMi) as confidential.

Judges acknowledge that moderation and calibration processes may occur to support consistency across the judging panel. Final award outcomes and official communications issued by TEMi represent the formal outcome of the Quest TEMi Awards judging process.

8.Intellectual property

The Judge irrevocably agrees and consents to TEMi may reproduce, publish or adapt, publishing, copying and adapting (with due credit to the primary source) the Judges biography and photograph and any thought leadership materials provided to TEMI in any way TEMi sees fit in any medium and in any context and with or without other text, data or images.

9.Removal and resignation

TEMi reserves the right to suspend or remove a judge from the Quest TEMi Awards judging panel where necessary to protect the integrity, reputation or effective operation of the Awards programme.

‘The Judge may resign as a judge of the Quest TEMi Awards or in respect of any Category by giving written notice to TEMi no later than 1 month prior to the Judging Commencement Date.

On termination of the Appointment or the removal/resignation of the Judge as a Judge in respect of any Category;

  • The judge must deliver up to TEMi all the IP relating to the Appointment or Category as the case may be; and
  • The confidentiality obligations on the Judge and arising through these terms and conditions, continue in perpetuity and survive the termination or removal/resignation, as the case may be.

10.No disparagement

Except when compelled by law or to directors of TEMi, the Judges are expected to uphold professional and respectful conduct in relation to the Quest TEMi Awards, entrants, sponsors, fellow judges and associated stakeholders. This clause does not prevent lawful disclosure or reporting obligations.

11.Privacy

TEMi privacy policy applies to any personal information or sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) collected under this policy. A copy of TEMi Privacy Policy is available on www.temiawards.com.au or a hardcopy can be provided upon request to the Judging Chair.

  • TEMi Talent Mobility Champion
  • TEMi Team Excellence in Mobility Award
  • Mobility Transformation of the Year
  • Strategic Partnership of the Year
  • Service Provider of the Year
  • TEMi Domestic & Trans-Tasman Mobility Program of the Year
  • Relocation with Heart Award
  • TEMi Rising Star in Mobility Award

Business Interest means any interest that could directly or indirectly result in the Judge or a person in whom the Judge has a Business interest;

Judge Chair means the chair of the Judging Panel, as appointed from time to time;

Conflict of Interest means any actual, perceived or potential conflict of interest between the Judge's duty to objectively adjudicate or otherwise participate in a Selection Process and the Judge's Personal Interests, Business Interests or Financial Interests;

Financial Interest means any interest that could directly or indirectly result in the Judge or a person in whom the Judge has a Personal Interest receiving a financial gain or bearing a financial loss;

Judge means any person judging or otherwise in a position to influence the decision-making in the final selection of Award winners and finalists;

Judging Panel means the panel of judges appointed to undertake the Judging Process;

Judging Process means the process of reviewing Award entries to determine Award winners and finalists;

Personal Interest includes a personal relationship with a spouse, de facto partner, relative, business associate or financial dependant;

Selection Process means the process of judging and evaluating the Award entries to select award category winners.

2. Appointment

TEMi has appointed a Judging Panel to review and assess the Award Submissions in respect of the Award Categories as set out in Section 1.

The Judges Appointment is a voluntary role, and the Judge will receive no remuneration or compensation for it or for any work carried out or time spent by the Judge, for or in relation to the Awards.

The Judge accepts this Appointment subject to the Judging terms and conditions herein.

3. Judges Role

In carrying out their role as a Judge, the Judge agrees to :

  • Review the allocated Award Submissions for the select Award Categories against the selection criteria provided by TEMI within the time frames specified by TEMI;
  • Rate the responses using the assessment model, selection criteria and scoring system provided by TEMI;
  • Provide feedback on the Award Submission to support rationale behind scoring as part of the Judging Process highlighting any standout elements or missed opportunities of the Award Submission;
  • Comply with TEMI's conflict of interest obligations as set out below;
  • Provide to TEMI the Judge's career biography (comprising of 100 words) and a head and shoulder photograph (in high resolution digital jpeg or png format) upon TEMI request;
  • Be willing to provide feedback to the winners and the runners up with regards to their Award Submission pre, during or post the TEMi Awards event, upon TEMI request.
  • Attend the TEMi Awards Gala Dinner (optional).

4. Promotional Activities

Each Judge will receive a judge's promotional logo to use across their social media platforms. They may use this logo on their email addresses to promote their involvement in the Awards Program;

Judges will be advised of the location, date and time of the TEMi Awards Ceremony by TEMi prior to the commencement of Judging. Each Judge is encouraged to attend the TEMi Awards presentation ceremony, if able.

Note: TEMI reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel the Awards Ceremony if deemed necessary.

5. Contacting Award Entrants

Judges are not to contact Award Entrants directly to discuss their submission.

If a Judge requires clarification on any points, they are to contact the TEMI Judging Chair who will then liaise with the Award Entrant and provide the feedback to the Judges.

  • a company they are currently working has entered the Awards Program;

A Judge must inform TEMi of a possible Conflict of Interest as soon as the Judge becomes aware of it, even if the Judge considers the Conflict of Interest to be remote, contingent, or apparently insubstantial. An Award Entrant must follow these same guidelines.

TEMi will determine in their sole discretion whether, due to a Conflict of Interest, a Judge or Judging Chair should:

  • participate, or continue to participate, in any or all of the Judging Process; or
  • be excluded from further participation in any, or certain aspects, of the Judging Process.

7. Confidentiality

Judges must treat all aspects of the judging and awards process (including without limitation all written, recorded or oral communications in any form between Judges, and/or Awards administrators, and/or TEMi) as confidential.

The final judge's assessment and feedback report represents the Judges consensus and Judges must not express a view contrary to it.

8. Intellectual property

The Judge irrevocably agrees and consents to TEMi in its absolute discretion reproducing, publishing, copying and adapting (with due credit to the primary source) the Judges biography and photograph and any thought leadership materials provided to TEMI in any way TEMi sees fit in any medium and in any context and with or without other text, data or images.

9. Removal and resignation

TEMi may in its absolute discretion immediately terminate or suspend the Appointment and/or remove or suspend the Judge as a Judge of the Quest TEMi Awards or from Judging any specific Category or Categories.

The Judge may resign as a judge or in respect of any Category by giving written notice to TEMi no later than 1 month prior to the Judging Commencement Date.

On termination of the Appointment or the removal/resignation of the Judge as a Judge in respect of any Category;

  • The judge must deliver up to TEMi all the IP relating to the Appointment or Category as the case may be; and
  • The confidentiality obligations on the Judge and arising through these terms and conditions, continue in perpetuity and survive the termination or removal/resignation, as the case may be.

10. No disparagement

Except when compelled by law or to directors of TEMi, the Judge must not disparage or denigrate TEMi, the awards gala's naming rights partner Quest Apartment Hotels, the Awards, the Award Entrants, the Award Submissions, any other judge or judges involved in the Awards, or the Judging and Awards process or results of the Awards.

11. Privacy

TEMi privacy policy applies to any personal information or sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) collected under this policy. A copy of TEMi Privacy Policy is available on www.temiawards.com.au or a hardcopy can be provided upon request to the Judging Chair.
