Amie Whiteman, Department of Home Affairs
Amie Whiteman works in Learning and Development with the Department of Home Affairs, coordinating travel and accommodation for employees attending training and extended stays. She works closely with accommodation providers to manage individual requirements, arrival arrangements and group movements, with a particular focus on clear communication, advance planning and making time away from home as straightforward as possible.Â
Award submission
Amie’s submission highlighted her proactive approach to supporting employees travelling for extended training. In one example, a group arriving early on a Sunday was supported through advance planning with the accommodation provider, including priority early check-ins and a clear arrival process. This meant travellers arrived with arrangements already considered, reducing uncertainty at the beginning of their stay.Â
