Workforce Mobility in Action Award

Recognising organisations that have developed practical and effective ways to deploy their workforce where it is needed most.

Across many industries, organisations must respond quickly to changing workforce demands, project requirements, skills shortages, and changing operational priorities. This often requires moving people across locations, deploying employees to projects, enabling remote work, supporting regional growth, or establishing operations across multiple markets. For many Australian, New Zealand, and Oceania-headquartered organisations, workforce mobility also plays an important role in supporting international expansion and cross-border capability.

This award focuses on how organisations design and deliver workforce mobility within their own operations. This may involve internal workforce mobility, project deployment, remote or distributed work models, labour hire solutions, or other workforce strategies that support organisational capability, regional growth, or international expansion across multiple locations.

Successful entries will demonstrate how the organisation has addressed workforce challenges by introducing flexible, innovative, or practical approaches to deploying talent.

Examples may include:

  • Deploying employees or contractors to support major projects.
  • Addressing skills shortages through workforce mobility or labour hire arrangements.
  • Enabling remote or distributed teams across locations.
  • Creating workforce models that allow employees to move between projects or regions.
  • Partnering with workforce providers to access specialised skills.
  • Supporting regional or remote workforce needs.

Organisations of all sizes are encouraged to apply. What matters most is how the organisation has ensured that the right skills are available in the right place at the right time.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to Australian, New Zealand, or Oceania-headquartered organisations, or organisations with significant workforce operations within the region, that have introduced initiatives to deploy talent across locations, projects, or workforce needs.
  • Entries may be submitted by organisations directly managing workforce deployment or by workforce partners supporting these initiatives.
  • Submissions may represent initiatives delivered internally or in collaboration with workforce partners such as labour hire providers, recruitment firms, or project delivery partners.

 What Judges Are Looking For

Judges will be seeking entries that demonstrate:

  • A clearly defined workforce challenge, such as skills shortages or project demands.
  • Practical and effective approaches to deploying talent.
  • Collaboration between teams or workforce partners where relevant.
  • Measurable outcomes that improved workforce capability, project delivery, or organisational performance.

Successful entries will highlight how organisations ensured that talent could be deployed effectively to meet business needs.
