Nicola Tempone is a senior Global Mobility professional with more than 20 years’ experience leading Global Mobility functions and driving best practice global talent outcomes for multinationals and their people.

Most recently Nicola lead AustralianSuper’s Global Mobility function during a period of significant growth for the Fund, maturing their Global Mobility offering through policy and operational re-design; partnering closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the Fund’s international offices to embed global transformation.

Nicola previously managed NAB’s Global Mobility function, leading a global team to meet the bank’s international talent needs through the sustained challenges of Asia Pacific and European geopolitical shifts, expansion into emerging markets, the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting transformation of work and talent mobilisation.

Prior to moving in-house, Nicola was a Senior Manager with Deloitte Australia, specialising in mobility policy advice, global remuneration and benefits structuring, and global expatriate and employer tax compliance management.

Nicola has first-hand experience as an expatriate, having lived in London for two years where she applied her international tax and transactions skills as Tax Manager for Cadbury’s EMEA operations.

Meet Joe, the Head of Migration and Co-Founder of Yakr.   Yakr, named after the indigenous word “yakka,” meaning “work”, is a pioneering startup that seamlessly integrates international recruitment with migration law, delivering a comprehensive solution for Australian companies to recruit, sponsor, and relocate skilled workers.

Joe cut his teeth working alongside one of Australia’s leading Accredited Migration Law Specialists. Motivated by a desire to streamline the process of bringing overseas talent to Australia, Joe co-founded Yakr to leverage purpose-designed technology and AI while maintaining exceptional customer-first service standards, with one of the very simple core policies at Yakr being “when a client asks, respond”.

With just over a year and more than 200 successful visa applications under the belt at Yakr, Joe is now dedicated to driving continuous improvement of the client experience through the Yakr App. He is also passionate about advocating for the value of international talent in Australia’s technical, manufacturing, and mining industries.  Originally hailing from the mighty metropolitan of Dysart in Central Queensland, Joe has a particular focus on addressing crippling talent shortages in regional Australia.

Charlotte has over 12 years of experience in Global Mobility and HR, 8 years of that being at Atlassian where she now leads the Global Mobility function. She is extremely passionate about all things GloMo and understands the critical role it plays as a powerful tool that attracts, grows and retains talent. In her current role, she is responsible for designing and implementing engaging and effective mobility programs and policies, alongside leading a team of high performing Global Mobility Managers and Specialists who simplify and unblock complex mobility challenges with technical expertise. She is strongly committed to operational excellence, compliance and extensive stakeholder collaboration whilst fostering an innovation culture to create meaningful impact through mobility.

Kate has 20 years of experience as an in-house global mobility advisor, with a focus on the APAC region. Kate is responsible for immigration, global compliance, policy advisory and end-to-end assignment management. Kate embraces the ever-changing nature of global mobility and is passionate about understanding and consulting with her stakeholders to achieve the best mobility outcome for the business, as well as the assignee and their family. A career highlight has been the development and implementation of offshore global mobility team(s) as well as developing and nurturing local global mobility advisors. Global mobility is complex and multifaceted and Kate is passionate in educating and navigating global mobility with her stakeholders.

Matt manages the global mobility team at Woolworths Group with the responsibility for the delivery of domestic and global mobility support across Australia and New Zealand.  As a keen advocate for the strategic value mobility can bring, Matt is focussed on transforming the mobility function to deliver data driven insights using technology, collaborating across all functions of the People team to balance compliance with employee experience. Matt started his global mobility career at EY in London before relocating to the EY PAS practice in Sydney. Throughout his time at EY Matt supported a range of clients with complex cross border tax and wider global mobility challenges and initiatives before moving into his current role with Woolworths.

Ryan launched his tax career at KPMG in the US, later specialising in US expatriate taxation at KPMG Australia. In London, he led EMEA mobility at SunGard/FIS for a decade, transforming the function into a holistic talent mobility offering. Transitioning to Meta in 2020, Ryan spearheaded the EMEA Relocation team, before joining Netflix in Amsterdam, where he now leads a dynamic mobility & immigration team, prioritising employee experience and flexibility within the company’s unique culture.

Sharon is a current Talent Acquisition Manager for KPMG. A proud graduate from both the University of Otago and University of Auckland, she was inspired to pursue a career in Recruitment after completing a Masters in Psychology and wanting to work in a corporate environment rather than clinical setting. Prior to working at KPMG, she was the Talent Acquisition Business Partner at GHD and Senior Advisor at Deloitte, where she was responsible for managing multiple portfolios and bringing in top talent into the business. In her free time, Sharon can be found hanging out with her young family (including a one-year-old toddler and bordercollie fur baby), checking out the restaurant scene, looking at where to travel next or being at the beach!

Jovina commenced her career in 2001 with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Sydney as an expatriate tax consultant, specializing in both Australian and U.S income tax for high wealth individuals. After 4 years, she transferred to PwC San Francisco to utilize U.S tax consulting skills, where she spent 2 years before returning to Australia and joining EY.

In 2007, Jovina’s career path took her from expatriate tax consulting to Human Resources, joining Insurance Australia Group (IAG). She had the opportunity to work in the remuneration and benefits space, as well as global mobility.  Jovina joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in 2009 where she had the opportunity to work within the Global Mobility space but also on major projects such as the global implementation of the HRIS. In 2017 she joined ResMed where she is currently the Global Head of Mobility.

Jovina’s varied roles have broadened her skills and knowledge in not just global mobility, but project management, remuneration and benefits and change management. Her strengths lie in stakeholder management and end-to-end project management, overlaid with a natural passion for process improvement and customer service.

Sandi has 19 years of experience in Global Mobility. Her career started at PwC in Sydney, where she specialised in expat tax – predominantly US tax. She had the opportunity to go on secondment to London and Singapore. 4 years ago, she decided to make the switch to an in-house GM role first at Uber and she is now a Mobility program manager at Google. She looks after the assignment and tax pillars and has spent the majority of the last few years building Google’s temporary remote work program.
